Rob McMonigal didn't have cable growing up, so he didn't get into MST3K until his friend John at college introduced him via Overdrawn at the Memory Bank. He was instantly hooked--and almost as instantly lost access to cable. Returning to MST3K with Erica in 2006 (just in time to also get into Rifftrax!) with Space Mutiny (Erica thinks it was a different one, and she is wronger than Joe Don Baker as a sex symbol), he's been watching and re-watching ever since. and head writer for Panel Patter (www.panelpatter.com), an award-nominated comics review and commentary site and also writes speculative fiction. Rob inexplicably waited until age 40 to get

Erica Satifka doesn't remember the first MSTie episode she ever watched, but she did watch it throughout the original Comedy Central run, although inexplicably stopped watching before the Sci-Fi Channel (now SyFy Chynnyl) run of episodes, a gap that has since been closed. When not watching bad movies riffed by small robots, Erica writes science fiction and fantasy stories, and her novel STAY CRAZY won the 2017 British Fantasy Award for Best Newcomer. MST3K one-line description: When a doctor's fiancee is decapitated, he keeps her head alive in a laboratory and tries to find her a new body. Overall Notes:  Rob:  This movie has a sentimental value to me because I found a copy on VHS and gave it to Erica as my first present to her. I also think it's interesting that the first official dvd release was Mike's debut episode. Erica:  I think, although I could be wrong, that this is the only MSTie episode I've ever watched unriffed. It was a very late night in college when I flipped around the channels for something to watch while playing some Age of Empires II (the hottest game 2003 had to offer). Somehow I landed on this, and even though I hadn't yet seen the riffed version, its awfulness is still quite apparent. Episode 506: Eegah

MST3K one-line description:  A giant caveman stumbles across modern civilization, then kidnaps a teenage girl and her father. Overall Notes: Rob: Eegah, the movie so good (??), Joel used it twice, once in the show proper and once as part of the first-ever MST3K live tour. The latter featured a near-pristine print of the movie, making Arch Hall, Jr. all the more frightening. This one is notable for featuring Richard "Jaws" Kiehl as the giant-like prehistoric throwback. And when they shave off the fake hair, he's not bad looking, actually. Also, for disc-less folks, this one appears to be staying on Netflix, though that's always subject to change. Erica:  This is one of the earliest episodes released on DVD, and I can see why they released it early: Eegah is one of the best MST3K episodes (and does make my personal top ten list).
